August 29, 2008: "Adrian Grenier Talks About "Ballsy" Paris Hilton And The Paparazzi On Cover Of Page Six Magazine's Latest Issue"
"Entourage" star Adrian Grenier opens up about the "ballsy" Paris Hilton, his rebellious past, and his appreciation of paparazzi in an interview in the latest issue of Page Six magazine. The 32-year-old actor, who was relatively unknown before starring in the 1999 flick "Drive Me Crazy" opposite TV star Melissa Joan Hart, reveals he jumped from one job to another when he dropped out of college. He says, "I worked everywhere because I always got fired. I was rebellious. I got fired because I think they just didn't like me." Grenier was at one time rumored to be dating paparazzi-magnet Paris Hilton. But while he admits he has a lot of respect for the heiress, he denies having a relationship with him other than a platonic one. He says, "She's ballsy. She's learned to play with the paparazzi attention and have fun with it, and she creates little mysteries in the tabloid area. I have fun with her, but it's always been platonic. [Our relationship] wasn't sexual though I understand that sex sells." And speaking of paparazzi, the actor is busy with his upcoming documentary about shutterbugs. He tries to defend them by saying that although they are very insistent and aggressive most of the time, they are just "trying to earn a buck in a fun way." He adds, "Through my documentary, I've realized how insignificant all that is, because I know who I am. Take one part truth and 1,000 parts speculations and heresy, and you've got yourself a tabloid story." More about Adrian Grenier as he appears on the cover of this week's issue of Page Six magazine. *** June 30, 2008: "Is Adrian Grenier taking career tips from his pal Lindsay Lohan?" The “Entourage” star’s birthday is coming up July 10, and one in-the-know source told Page Six, “He’s been asking clubs in the Hamptons for $50,000 for the honor of throw ing him a birthday party.” Insid ers have also noted Grenier’s practice of charging upwards of $30,000 for his band the Honey Brothers to play at venues. It’s not yet clear if any spots have accepted his “offer” though his rep denies the story and puts the heat on an “entrepreneurial” member of his entourage. *** Actors Adrian Grenier pictures AND photo gallery. Adrian Grenier (born July 10, 1976) is an American actor, musician and director. Grenier is best known for his lead role on the HBO original series, Entourage, as Vincent Chase. In 1997, Grenier made his film debut in the independent drama Arresting Gena. In 1999, he played opposite Melissa Joan Hart in Drive Me Crazy, and in 2001, starred in James Toback's Harvard Man. In 2002, Grenier made his directorial debut with the documentary, Shot in the Dark. The documentary chronicles his years-long search for his real father, John Dunbar (no relation to the British artist, collector, and gallerist), with whom Grenier's mother broke up when Adrian was still a baby. Grenier and Dunbar remained estranged for 18 years, and in 2001, Adrian began work on the documentary in an attempt to forge a relationship with Dunbar. The two eventually reunited and maintain a warm relationship. HBO premiered the documentary on June 3, 2007. In 2004, Grenier landed the lead role in the HBO series Entourage, which has brought him his most substantial notice and success. In 2006, he won a role in The Devil Wears Prada, as Anne Hathaway's boyfriend, Nate. In August of 2007, Adrian was reported to be working on a documentary which will chronicle the relationship between celebrities and the media. In addition to being an actor and filmmaker, Grenier is also a musician, playing guitar, drums, french horn, and the piano. He is a member of the New York band, The Honey Brothers. In August of 2007, rumors of a relationship with socialite Paris Hilton started when the two were spotted together. Grenier recently made a poor impression on Australian audiences during his publicity tour throughout the country. The actor was percieved as being overtly arrogant after a string of interviews. Grenier was described as a "wanker" by Australian Kate Langbroek Co-Host on the variety show Rove Live. "If you don't want to be personable and you don't want to do interviews and you don't want to be nice to people, and you're not interested in the country you're coming to, don't come, stay away," said Langbroek. "I was sitting next to him on the couch. It was the most awkward moment of my life trying to make small talk with him." added Dave Hughes, whose droll humour has made him one of Australia's most popular comedians.
