July 3, 2008: "Emma Bunton: 'I Like Being Curvy'" Motherhood looks to be agreeing with Emma Bunton. After only giving birth five months ago to her first child Beau, the ex-Spice Girl is already looking as trim as she did before her pregnancy. Her trademark golden locks seem to have regained their shine and her skin is glowing. To say the least, she seems revived. But things have also been hectic for the new mother. Her reunion tour with the Spice Girls came only two and a half months after she gave birth, making her fitness regime intense and difficult. 'At the time, I thought going on tour so soon after Beau would be a great idea,' Emma told Red magazine. 'I should have thought about it more! I had the best time, but it was hard. 'You have to get back in shape and your fitness has to be up to a two-hour stage show every night. 'I don't know if I'll put myself through that again. 'It's tough for any woman returning to work straight after having a baby. 'I didn't want to be in the gym 24 hours a day, instead of being with Beau. 'And I wanted to breastfeed for the first couple of months. 'I did lots of walking, but I couldn't do sit-ups because I'd had a Caesarean, as I was overdue. 'So, for the first four weeks after having Beau, I did nothing, absolutely nothing. 'I had to relax and take time out.' As with any pregnancy, insecurities may arise and Emma admitted to feeling self-conscious when she was on stage. 'The first fortnight of the tour I did feel self-conscious but, one night, I was up on stage and it just hit me: hold on, Emma, everyone knows you've just had a baby, enjoy it,' she said. 'After that it was wonderful and I had a great time. 'And I like being curvy. I don't think I'd look good thin. 'I'm careful. I don't have carbs for dinner, but I love crisps and Coke and great wine and Chinese food. 'I could never be one of those people who thinks about their figure 24/7' Despite rumours that some of The Spice Girls had been engaged in all-out warfare during the tour, Emma remains adamant that they actually had a great time - and were very supportive. 'The other girls were brilliant,' she said. ''They kept asking me how I was doing and if I needed a break. 'I think you forget the pain, the tiredness, and they probably just thought I'd be fine. 'But they were really supportive and they all loved Beau. 'It was so nice, we'd be rehearsing and the kids would all by running around.' Emma was also keen to stress how close she was to Victoria Beckham. 'To me, she's just Victoria, my friend,' she said. 'She's an amazing mother and she's very funny. Emma Bunton biography (bio): Emma Lee Bunton is an English pop singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. Emma is best known for being a member of the successful '90s girl group, the Spice Girls. Emma was known as "Baby Spice", in the group, as she was the youngest member, had an "innocent" yet lolitaesque demeanor, and often wore revealing "babydoll" dresses. Early life: Bunton was born in Finchley and grew up in Woodside Park, London. Her parents, Pauline, a karate instructor, and Trevor, a milkman, split up when she was eleven; and she stayed with her mother. She has a younger brother, Paul James. Bunton started off at St. Theresa's Primary School in Finchley Central. Bunton was tapped to replace Beyoncé Knowles as the female lead in The Pink Panther 2. Unfortunately, Bunton was forced to drop out because of her pregnancy and her tour commitments. Personal life: She has been linked with such stars as actor Nigel Harman, pop singer Justin Timberlake, and 911 lead singer Lee Brennan. Her boyfriend of eight years is former Damage and current CherryBlackStone lead singer Jade Jones. In October 2006, there were rumours that the couple were engaged, with plans to marry in March 2007. This rumour was denied several days later. After being diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition which can reduce fertility, Bunton and Jones announced in January 2007 that they were expecting their first child together. It was rumoured that Prince William was to be one of the baby's godparents. However, Bunton appeared as a guest on the February 11 episode of Loose Women, where she denied that this was the case, stating that, yes, she and William were friends, and "exchanged Christmas cards", but that he would not be one of the baby's godparents. On August 10, 2007, Bunton gave birth to a 7lb 15oz baby boy named Beau Lee Bunton (according to their official website, "Baby had a baby!").
