Actress Ginger Rogers pictures and photo gallery. Birth name: Ginger Rogers . Born: July 16, 1911 Independence, Missouri, USA. She was an Academy Award-winning American film and stage actress, singer and dancer. In a film career spanning thirty-five years she made a total of seventy-three films, and is now principally celebrated for her role as Fred Astaire's romantic interest and dancing partner in a series of ten Hollywood musical films that revolutionized the genre. Ginger Rogers died on April 25, 1995, of congestive heart failure, at the age of 83, in Rancho Mirage, and was cremated. Her ashes are interred in the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, California. The Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford, Oregon is named in her honor.
