The star-studded fifth annual Can-Do Awards dinner, which was also to celebrate the food charity's 25th anniversary, took place at Abigail Kirsch's Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers. Dressed in a loose-fitting dress and black heels, Gwyneth, who arrived without husband Chris Martin, gushed: "I feel very honoured and very happy to be honoured by this charity. They do such good work! "I grew up in this city, and I worked in soup kitchens throughout high school, so being back here is like a full circle. I'm just thrilled to be here and to help in any way I can. As celebrities, we are given so much and we are very blessed. With that comes a real responsibility to give back, share, give money, time and attention to people and causes that need it." TV's Iron Chef Mario Batali, who has been filming a TV show with Gwyneth, joked: "We totally use the celebrities to try and gain recognition for our noble cause. Gwyneth's an old friend of mine." *** March 9, 2008: "Gwyneth Paltrow Gets ‘C’ Tattoo For Husband Chris Martin" Gwyneth Paltrow has reportedly had the letter ‘C’ tattooed on her hip, to show her commitment to hubby Chris Martin. There have been rumours of marriage problems between Gwyneth and Chris because they have been spending a lot of time apart. Gwyneth got her new ink at the Zulu tattoo parlour last Thursday in Selfridges, Oxford Street, London. She apparently spend an hour deciding what tattoo to get by browsing through a catalogue of letters and Roman numerals, before opting for the £60 tattoo on her hip. Tattooist Steve Flannery spent 20 minutes on the design for a “nervous” Gwyneth. He said, “At first she was thinking about having a tattoo on her arm, but then decided that this might affect her acting work. In the end she decided on the top of her right thigh, and joked that Chris would have fun finding it. I asked her if the C stood for Coldplay, but she said it was definitely a C for Chris. Compared to some designs I do, this was discreet and subtle, to say the least.” Zulu confirmed, “Gwyneth came in last week. But we don’t comment on the work that clients have done. A lot of celebrities have visited us.” *** Actress Gweneth Paltrow pictures (pic) and photo gallery. Birth name: Gwyneth Kate Paltrow. Born: September 27, 1972 Los Angeles, California, USA.
