Birth name: Wendy Lauren Sanchez. Born: December 19, 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Spouse(s): -Patrick Whitesell (20 August 2005 - present) they have one child. Lauren Sanchez biography (bio): Early life: She is the daughter of Eleanor Sánchez, former Los Angeles assistant deputy mayor, and Ray Sánchez, an aviation businessman in Albuquerque. She attended Del Norte High School. Attended the University of Southern California as a Communications major for one year but did not graduate. Sanchez served as a writer on the El Camino College Warwhoop. Career: Sánchez is an Emmy-winning journalist who began her career as a desk assistant at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. She has also held positions as an anchor/reporter at KTVK-TV in Phoenix and with the syndicated entertainment show, Extra. She then moved on to Fox Sports Net where she served as a correspondent for the sports magazine, Going Deep and an entertainment reporter for FSN's Best Damn Sports Show Period. In 1999, after a nationwide search, Sánchez was one of two finalists to co-host ABC'sThe View with Barbara Walters. She subsequently re-joined KCOP-TV where she anchors the My13 News. She is also the entertainment reporter for KTTV/Fox11's 10 p.m. news program and is an occasional guest host on Fox's morning show, Good Day L.A. In addition to her Emmy, Sanchez has received numerous awards and other recognition; including a second Emmy nomination for her ground breaking investigative report on the dangers of aluminum baseball bats. Sanchez was the host of So You Think You Can Dance (Season 1). Film appearances: Sanchez has appeared as a reporter in many films, including: The Longest Yard, Fantastic Four, The Day After Tomorrow, Akeelah and the Bee, and Fight Club. Personal: Sanchez was previously engaged to football player Anthony Miller and to NYPD Blue actor Henry Simmons until their split in 2003. She married talent agent Patrick Whitsell in a star-studded (guests included Whitsell's clients Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jessica Alba, and Hugh Jackman) $2 million wedding in September 2005. She has two sons: Nikko, born in 2001 from a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs All Pro tight end, Tony Gonzalez, and Evan, born on June 22, 2006 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. On the morning of July 4, 2007, Sanchez announced on Good Day LA, while filling in for Jillian Reynolds, who is on maternity leave, that she is expecting her third child. Sanchez announced that she is in the second trimester of her pregnancy. On the August 14, 2007 broadcast of Good Day LA, Sanchez revealed that she is having a girl and that her daughter will be named Eleanor Patricia (Ella for short) after Sanchez's mother and mother-in-law. |
