August 15, 2008: "Mariah Carey Needs Assistants To Dry Herself Off After Swimming" Mariah Carey has been photographed being dried off by two assistants after she swam in the Mediterranean Sea. The "Touch My Body" singer, who has a reputation for being a diva, enjoyed a peaceful swim on her second honeymoon with husband Nick Cannon off the island of Capri. As she emerged from the water, Mariah was quickly met by two assistants bearing towels, who then proceeded to ensure she was completely dry by rubbing her all over. A source said: "Mariah looked in absolute heaven as she was dried off. She just held out her arms to her side and let the assistants get rid of any water remaining on her body." Mariah, 38, has previously revealed she likes being called a diva because it means she is successful. She said: "They throw that word around like it's a Frisbee! On Saturday April 5, Carey was tapped as one of the judges in "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (DSDS), a German talent show similar to American Idol and as a guest performer. She performed her #1 single "Touch My Body" that looked like sung on top of a played record. PerezHilton.com reported that at least one of the judges noticed the lipsynch. The day before that Carey also appeared on Channel 4's "Paul O'Grady Show" singing "Touch My Body" but many claimed that she also did a lipsynch in the performance. When signing autographs this week at Selfridges department store, Mariah demanded a �50,000 antique table, covered with silk cloth, to scribble upon, flown in from New York. She sat on a �1,000 throne and was surrounded by roses and butterflies. She insisted on having a �10,000 gym installed next to her penthouse suite at Claridge's. It was also rumoured she was bringing 100 pairs of shoes with her on the trip. She booked every penthouse in Claridge's hotel, so she can have ultimate privacy. When accepting her role in the upcoming film Tennessee, an independent, low-budget production, Mariah was told budgetary constraints meant she would have to travel to the location on an economy-class air ticket, rather than her usual first class or private jet. Mariah agreed ... then bought every single economy seat on her flight, and travelled alone in the cabin. She keeps 20 humidifiers around her bed.
