Birth name: Marques Barrett Houston. Born: August 4, 1981 Culver City, California, USA. Height: 5' 10" (1.78 m). Nickname: Batman, MH. Acting career In 1992, Houston was featured on Bebe's Kids as the voice actor for the character named Kahill. Houston and his Bandmates from Immature also sang the title song "Tear It Up (On Our Worst Behavior)" which is featured on Immature's debut album. In 1993, he appeared on a two part episode of A Different World with his fellow group mates Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos, of Immature. The episode centered around the character Whitley's first day as a teacher and Immature played 3 rowdy children that give her a hard time. His first appearance was in House Party 3 along with Immature. In 1994, Houston played the role of "Roger Evans" on the TV series Sister, Sister. It was a running gag in the series for any other character to become frustrated and yell "Go Home! Roger!". As the Roger character, he often meant well but ended up annoying the twins, whom he pined for during each episode. Then Houston left the series in 1998 to focus on his music career. In 1996, he appeared in The Parent Hood. In 1997, he appeared on Good Burger as the actor name Jake. In 2001, he was the protagonist in the direct-to-video film House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute, along with IMx bandmates. In 2002, he started to sing with Omarion and other B2k members, J-Boog, Raz-B, and Lil Fizz. Houston introduced B2k, before IMx disbanded. B2k also appeared in the IMx video "Beautiful (You Are)", along with Miyoko Chilombo, who was once apart of the TUG Label with her short lived female group, Gyrl. She played lead female in the video. In 2003, he performed the song called "That Girl" at Kids Choice Awards 2003, combined with B2k song "Girlfriend". He also appeared on Soul Train, 3rd Annual BET Awards as a presenter, Rock Me Baby, and The Sharon Osbourne Show. In 2004, he came on Take It to the Streets, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest, The Wayne Brady Show, and 2004 MTV Movie Awards. He appeared with Omarion of the group B2k, in the movie You Got Served as Elgin. Houston also appeared on Fat Albert as Dumb Donald. In 2005, he was featured on an episode of Punk'd with Omarion. Omarion invited Houston to be part of the Punk'd episode about a pregnant woman. He was also on Dr. Phil, It's Showtime at the Apollo, Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out, Total Request Live, 106 & Park BET's Top 10 Live, and All Shades of Fine: 25 Hottest Women of the Past 25 Years. In 2006, he starred as Kevin Barnes in the sitcom Cuts, a spinoff of One on One. In 2007, He will appear with Omarion in the horror movie, Somebody Help Me. Also, in 2008, he will star in You Got Served 2 with Omarion. Music career In 1991, Houston formed the group Immature with his childhood friends, Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos. Chris Stokes became the manager of the group. In 1992, They released their debut album entitled On Our Worst Behavior. The original members were Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos. The album met with dismal sales and Don "Half Pint" Santos left the group due to the demands of his parents. After being discovered by Marques "Batman" Houston, Kelton "LDB" Kessee joined Immature. His name "LDB" (Little Drummer Boy) comes from his skills with the drums. After regrouping, they released their second album in 1994, entitled Playtime Is Over. Then they released their studio album called We Got It in 1995. Immature's last release was called, The Journey and was released in 1997. In 1998 The group later changed their name to IMx, because they felt they had matured personally and musically. They released their 1999 album, entitled Introducing IMx. IMx last release was their 2001 album, entitled IMx. In 2002, IMx mutually disbanded because the members wanted to move on and do different things creatively. Houston inked a record deal with TUG/Universal records and embarked upon his journey of becoming a relevant R&B soloist. In 2003, Houston recorded and released his first solo album entitled MH. His first is "That Girl", then release "Clubbin" in mid-tempo and "Pop That Booty (Ft. Jermaine Dupri)". Houston also appeared on Scream Tour with Nick Cannon, B2K, and Bow Wow In 2004, he released one last single from that album; "Because of You". This single was released as the sprung-2004 song. He was also featured on Young Rome's song/video "After Party" and with Omarion. In 2005, Houston released his second solo effort entitled Naked. The singles from that album were "All Because of You (Ft. Young Rome)", "Naked", and "Sex With You". He was also featured on 50 Cent's remix to the hit single "Candy Shop". In 2006 he released the first single from his third solo album, "Favorite Girl" and the Accompanying video, featuring Stacey Dash. He was also featured in his fellow T.U.G. artist, Mila J's video/song "Good Lookin' Out" and on Yung Joc's video/song "1st Time" and with Trey Songz. In 2007, Houston, released the official second single, "Circle" and the music video debuted on Yahoo! Music and BET's Access Granted. Houston released his third studio album entitled, Veteran. It was supposed to come out in November 2006 but he took time to grieve after the death of his grandmother. Marques Houston's album Veteran was the number one R&B album in the country and number 5 on the Hot 100 chart. He might release his third single, "Wonderful", because he expected with Ne-Yo who had wrote it. |
