August 19, 2008: "New Kids On The Block Member Donnie Wahlberg And Wife Heading To Divorce Court" Donnie Wahlberg and his wife are divorcing. The wife of the New Kids On The Block star has filed for divorce after almost nine years of marriage. While Kim Fey Wahlberg was citing "irreconcilable differences" on the paper filed in Los Angeles on August 13, Donnie was doing the same in Ventura County. According to the court documents, Kim is seeking sole physical custody of their sons, Alexander Xavier (born 1993) and Elijah Hendrix (born 2001), as well as spousal support and payment of attorney's fees. The duo, both 39 years old, have apparently been living separately since January. They were married in August 1999. Donnie is currently plotting his comeback tour with bandmates Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, Jordan and Jonathan Knight. They are releasing their first album in almost 15 years, The Block, on September 2. *** July 11, 2008: "New Kids On The Block Desperate To Have Madonna On Their Album" New Kids on the Block want Madonna to appear on their album. The recently reformed 80s boy band hope their producer Timbaland will convince her to appear on their album too. Singer Joey McIntyre, 35, said: "It's so exciting. We loved what Timbaland did with Madonna's '4 Minutes' and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us." His bandmate Jordan Knight, 37, added: "I know he's putting in a good word for us to have Madonna on the album. It's looking good. Fingers crossed." The band also revealed this week they are collaborating with pop legend Michael Jackson, who is currently working on his own comeback record. Despite their association with such high profile artists, Jordan insists the band won't be taking themselves too seriously with their new material, saying: "We don't feel we have to do a groundbreaking piece of art for everybody to say, 'Whoa they're deep'. We are a boy band, and we do have girl fans and we like showing off and having fun." NKOTB are planning their comeback album for September and will tour the U.K. next January. *** July 3, 2008: "The Return Of New Kids On The Block" New Kids On The Block have sold more than 80 million albums worldwide. The group shattered concert box office records playing an estimated 200 concerts a year in sold out stadiums across the globe. They beat out Michael Jackson and Madonna for Forbes highest paid entertainers of 1990. Their faces were plastered on everything from lunch boxes to sleeping bags to pillow cases. The guys may have gone their separate ways in 1994, but Joey, Donnie, Jordan, Danny and Jon are back and ready to pick up right where they left off. They were welcomed back to the world stage by a mass of screaming fans after announcing their reunion live on NBC’s Today Show. In addition to catering to their pre-existing, dedicated fan base, NKOTB are looking to engage a new set of younger fans that may not be as familiar with their music. Their new single, “Summertime,” is the perfect summer jam that fans of all ages will enjoy.
