Birth name: Armando Christian Perez. Also known as: Mr. 305 and Lil' Chico. Born: January 14, 1981 Miami, Florida, United States. Pitbull biography (bio): Armando Christian Perez is better known by his stage name Pitbull, or his other nicknames, Lil' Chico or Mr. 305, is a Cuban-American rapper. Early years and debut album: In 2002, Pitbull was featured on Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz' album Kings of Crunk and the soundtrack to the film 2 Fast 2 Furious the following year. In addition, Pitbull also released several mixtapes, composed of freestyles and remixes of popular rap music. Former 2 Live Crew leader Luther Campbell featured Pitbull in his single "Lollipop". In 2004, Pitbull released his debut album M.I.A.M.I. (Money Is A Major Issue), with the lead single being "Culo" ("ass" in English) produced by Lil Jon and the Diaz Brothers. In January 2006 he guest-starred in UPN's South Beach. Also in 2006 he recorded "Nuestro Himno" in collaboration with Wyclef Jean, Carlos Ponce, and Olga Tanon. El Mariel: The first single from El Mariel was "Bojangles". The album featured guest artists such as Lil Jon, Ken-Y, Vybz Kartel, Rick Ross, Bun B, and Ying Yang Twins. Recent Developments: On the evening of July 31, 2006, when the president of Cuba, Fidel Castro, announced that he was transferring his duties to his brother Raul Castro, Pitbull jumped into the studio at 11:00PM to write the single Ya Se Acabo ("It is Over" in English). Stating the verse 'hasta luego' (which means 'see you later') during the duration of the song. Pitbull has contributed much to the Reggaeton music movement. He has worked alongside Zion Y Lennox in the song "Jump & Spread Out" featuring Miri Ben-Ari. He also participated in Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina" remix featuring N.O.R.E.. He was also featured in Yaga & Mackie Rank's "Muevete" hot Reggaeton single, and Elephant Man's "Rah Rah Medley" Remix. He appeared in Don Omar's pobre diabla remix and otra noche remix. In 2007, Pitbull and Freestyle Legend Stevie B Collaborated To Do A Remake of His Dance Hit "Spring Love" Which Is Now Titled as "Spring Love 2007". Pitbull also hosts his own show on mun2, called La Esquina (Spanish for "the corner"), debuted May 9, 2007. He also participated in a webcam interview on the mun2 website. Pitbull will also release an all-Spanish album entitled The Boatlift, which will have an Afro-Cuban feel. In video games: In video games, Pitbull's hit single "Dammit Man" produced by Jim Jonsin was featured in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, and he also plays himself in the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours based on the 1980s Scarface. "Toma" was featured in WWE Day of Reckoning 2, and "Back Up", which was produced by the Diaz Brothers, is featured on Fight Night: Round 2. |
