June 13, 2008: "R. Kelly acquitted of all charges" R. Kelly has been acquitted of all 14 charges in his infamous child-pornography con golden shower case. It took the jurors less than a day of deliberation to find R. not guilty. The AP reports: "Prosecutors had argued that a video tape mailed to the Chicago Sun-Times in 2002 showed Kelly engaged in graphic sex acts with a girl as young as 13 at the time. Both Kelly, 41, and the now 23-year-old alleged victim had denied they were the ones on the tape. Neither testified during the trial." *** Music R&B R. Kelly is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. He appeared on the music scene as the founder and lead singer of Public Announcement and later became one of the most successful male artists of the 1990s. Kelly is most well known for hits such as "Bump n' Grind", "I Believe I Can Fly", and his mini-opera/film Trapped in the Closet. He has sold 31 million albums in the US with over 50 million albums sold worldwide making him the most successful R&B male artist of the 90s. In Chicago June 2002, Kelly was indicted for 21 counts of having sexusal intercourse with a minor, charges which were later reduced to soliciting a minor for child pornography. To date, Kelly still faces fourteen of the original charges.
