Sam Riley biography (bio): Sam Riley is a British actor who played the lead role of Ian Curtis in the movie Control, a biopic about the lead singer of the 1970s post-punk band Joy Division. He played Mark E. Smith in the previous film that featured Joy Division, 24 Hour Party People. He was also the lead singer of the Leeds band 10,000 Things and more briefly with the Horned Owls. In September 2007, Sam Riley was cast into Gerald McMorrow's British science fiction film Franklyn. Background: Riley is from Leeds, but currently lives in Berlin with his Control co-star Alexandra Maria Lara.
