Sarah Carter biography (bio): Sarah Carter is a Canadian actress born in Toronto, Ontario. She is best known for playing Helena Douglas in DOA: Dead or Alive & Alicia Baker, in Smallville. She is currently playing Madeline Poe in Shark alongside James Woods. Career: Sarah Carter was born in Toronto and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At school she was a dancer and also took part in various school plays including playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She was only a teenager when she began her acting career in the theater in A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, and The Wizard of Oz. She was also a member of the debate team, which allowed her to travel all over the world. After graduation she took a year off to see Europe, then joined Ryerson Theater School in Toronto, where she was discovered while performing a monologue. Carter quickly landed her first guest appearance in the series Wolf Lake (2001) and followed that up with a turn in Dark Angel (2000). She then went on to guest in the series Undeclared (2001). Making the leap to the big screen, Carter was cast in the psychological thriller Mindstorm (2001) starring Eric Roberts, Michael Ironside, and Antonio Sabato Jr. She played the kidnapped daughter of a senator whose abduction ultimately unravels her dark hidden life. Carter can also be seen in Final Destination 2 (2003), the sequel to the hit film Final Destination (2000), but is only a few scenes as she is the one of the first people to get killed. In her spare time, Carter likes to indulge in her first passion - dance. She also likes to practice yoga, curl up with a good book, and go to the movies. Another passion is teaming up with her father, who is a minister, to distribute food to the needy. Sarah got her first main TV role in Black Sash where she played Allie Bennett who is a major character in the series. She used her background of dancing for one of the episodes and was taught martial arts for the series, which would later help for her performance in DOA: Dead or Alive. The series had filmed eight episodes but the seventh and eight episode never aired due to the show being cancelled after it's sixth episode. Her breakthrough role was appearing in three episodes of Smallville episodes (One in Season Three and two in Season Four) as Alicia Baker who has the ability to teleport herself or other things/people. Her character had a relationship with Clark Kent played by Tom Welling. The character was killed at the end of the third episode she has appeared in. Though her character was in only three episodes, her charcter made a major part in the series as she revealed to Chloe, Clark's powers. Sarah then was put into her first big film DOA: Dead or Alive as Helena Douglas, the daughter of the late Fame Douglas and is a fighter who enters the DOA Tournament. The character has a relationship with a man called Weatherby. Her most recent role is as Zelda Sparks in Barstool Words, where she is one of the three main characters working alongside Colm Feore & Vincent Kartheiser. She also currently plays as Madeline Poe in Shark alongside James Woods. She plays as a defence attorney who decides to learn from Sebastian Stark who is played by James Woods. Her character also has a sexual relationship with fellow defence attorney Casey Woodland.
