The Calling is a rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band was formed by Alex Band (vocals) and Aaron Kamin (guitars) when Kamin was dating Band's sister. After forming, Band and Kamin were signed to a development deal with RCA. As the band advanced, Sean Woolstenhulme (b. March 1, 1981, in Gilbert, Arizona, U.S.A.) (guitars), Billy Mohler (bass) and Nate Wood (b. October 3, 1979) (drums) were added as extra musicians, and The Calling's first album was recorded. Issued in July 2001, Camino Palmero became a hit, due to the strength of its single, "Wherever You Will Go," first featured prominently at the end of the second episode in the first season of the TV series Smallville, Metamorphosis. Band and Kamin (without Wood, Woolstenhulme, and Mohler) returned in June 2004 with Two. In June 2005, the band took a break. Alex Band has told reporters he has plans for a solo album. On their official website, Alex Band has posted an announcement assuring fans that The Calling will return to record another album. Members: -Alex Band. -Aaron Kamin. |
