The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is a pop punk/post-hardcore band that was originally formed in 2003 in Middleburg, Florida, which is approximately 30 miles (50 kilometers) southwest of Jacksonville. The current members of the band are Ronnie Winter, the lead vocalist, Elias Reidy, guitarist, Joey Westwood, bassist, Duke Kitchens, guitarist, and Jon Wilkes, drummer, all of whom do back-up vocals. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus released their demo, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in 2005. They then released a demo tour EP with "Ass Shaker", "Justify" and "Face Down" demo versions. Later in 2006 they released their first LP, Don't You Fake It, which was certified gold on November 27, 2006 by the RIAA for sales shipments exceeding 500,000 copies. As of February 2007, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will be taking part in the US Take Action! Tour organized for the prevention of youth suicide. Their song "In Fate's Hands" is featured in the video game Madden NFL 07. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "Don't You Fake It" Deluxe Edition (CD/DVD) was released on April 3, 2007. The CD features the album and two exclusive songs, an acoustic version of "Face Down" and a never released bonus track "Disconnected". On the DVD be apart of the RJA's real world as you meet each band member individually, as they explain the creative process that became their Gold debut album and go along to their video shoots as well. The DVD includes the Face Down and False Pretense music videos and a just filmed day in the life of RJA 2007 update, filmed on the Take Action tour. Other bonus content includes five exclusive postcards of the band, new packaging, photos, and lyrics. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus did a concert in Fort Rucker, Alabama on May 3, 2007 to raise money for Enterprise High school, which was destroyed by a tornado on March 1, 2007. Eight people died that day and they were honored at the concert. Other local bands such as Skyline Drive, Brandon Kelly, Course Of Nature and Mayday also performed.
