Westlife is an Irish boy band created in 1998 (signed by music guru Simon Cowell), and managed by music mogul Louis Walsh. The group has proven extremely successful in Ireland and the United Kingdom, and rest of the Europe, and are also relatively popular in Africa, Australia, Asia and Latin-America. The new group, formed on July 3, 1998, was re-named Westside but as the name was already taken by another band, it was changed to Westlife.
