 Blue-Sky Research is Taproot\'s third major label album which was released on August 15, 2005 internationally and a day later in the United States. Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, Far and Onelinedrawing member Jonah Matranga and Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter make guest appearances. \"Calling\" was released as the first single and was a moderate hit, while Birthday followed quietly. The album highlights a new direction for Taproot, abandoning their once successful nu metal formula, and progressing to a more alternative rock approach. It will be Taproot\'s last album with Atlantic Records, as both parties have decided to part ways. The album has sold over 100,000 copies in the U.S., with little label support.
