The Hollies - Evolution album Cover | |||||||||||||||
Evolution (Parlophone PCS 7022/PMC 7022) is the first of two 1967 albums by The Hollies.
This, like its predecessor For Certain Because, featured all the songs written by members Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, and Tony Hicks. Unfortunately, none of the songs on the album were selected for single or EP release in the UK. The album cover artwork was created by The Fool, with the psychedelic cover photo by Karl Ferris who is credited with creating the first truly psychedelic photograph for an album cover. The cover shown is the Sundazed 1998 rerelease which differs from the original by having a small black rectanglular Sundazed logo present in lower right. In 1978, Parlophone reissued the stereo version of Evolution, along with Butterfly and Confessions of the Mind. UK Track listing: 1. "Then the Heartaches Begin" 2. "Stop Right There" 3. "Water on the Brain" 4. "Lullaby to Tim" 5. "Have You Ever Loved Somebody?" 6. "You Need Love" 7. "Rain on the Window" 8. "Heading for a Fall" 9. "Ye Olde Toffee Shoppe" 10. "When Your Light’s Turned On" 11. "Leave Me" 12. "The Games We Play" The U.S. edition of Evolution featured different tracks in a modified lineup: 1. "Carrie Anne" 2. "Stop Right There" 3. "Rain on the Window" 4. "Then the Heartaches Begin" 5. "Ye Olde Toffee Shoppe" 6. "You Need Love" 7. "Heading for a Fall" 8. "The Games We Play" 9. "Lullaby to Tim" 10.
