Nazareth - Hair of the dog album cover | |||||||||||||||
Hair of the Dog is a 1975 album, by the Scottish rock band Nazareth. It was released on A&M Records. It was Nazareth's first big hit album (aside from the minor success of Razamanaz), including classics such as "Love Hurts" (on the US version, but not the Canadian, it replaced the original "Guilty"), "Hair of the Dog", "Beggar's Day" and "Please Don't Judas Me". By Dan McCafferty, the album title is the same that heir of the dog = son of a bitch (so, the song is sometimes mistakenly called "Son of a Bitch" due to the track's chorus). The compact disc version released in the 2000s, features extra tracks. The album was recorded at Escape Studios, in Kent, United Kingdom and is the band's biggest selling album to date, having sold two million copies worldwide.
