Nickelback - Curb album cover
Curb was the first full-length album by Nickelback, released in 1996. The album has quite a strong cult following. The album and title track were named for Chad Kroeger's friend, Kirby, who had sneaked out to visit his girlfriend but actually crashed his car into her car, since she also sneaked out to see him, unbeknownst to him. This is also the reason for the wrecked car image on the original version of the album, and the lone road image on the re-released version. When the album re-released in 2002, was charted on Billboard 200 albums chart at #182.
The album's sound is almost incomparable to Nickelback's newest album, All the Right Reasons. The album lacks pop-laden hooks and contains more abstract themes, especially on the song "Little Friend". Track listing: 1. "Little Friend" – 3:48 2. "Pusher" – 4:00 3. "Detangler" – 3:41 4. "Curb" – 4:51 5. "Where?" – 4:27 6. "Falls Back On" – 2:57 7. "Sea Groove" – 3:58 8. "Fly" – 2:53 9. "Just For" (which was re-released separately on Silver Side Up) – 3:54 10. "Left" – 4:03 11. "Window Shopper" – 3:42 12. "I Don't Have" – 4:07
