nnocent Eyes is the first studio album by Australian singer Delta Goodrem, released on March 21, 2003 by Sony Music Australia. The album has sold an estimated 2.5 million copies worldwide (over a million in Australia)
The album is a collection of piano-based pop and ballad tracks. Goodrem co-wrote most of the material, excluding "Throw It Away", "Lost Without You" and "Butterfly". It features two solely self-penned songs, "In My Own Time" and "Will You Fall For Me". Producers and writers for the album include the True North production and songwriting team of Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, Ric Wake (Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey), Matthew Gerrard (Mandy Moore, BB Mak), Vince Pizzinga (Midnight Oil, Danielle Spencer), David Nicholas (INXS, Elton John, George), The Rembrandts and Mark Holden. The album uses mostly live instruments as opposed to most pop acts who's backing music is created through the use of mainly synthesizers. The album has been has been released in thirty-one countries with global sales of 2.5 million albums, roughly 1,047,481 of them being in Australia. The album made Goodrem a star in her home country and produced five number-one singles on the ARIA Singles chart ("Born to Try", "Lost Without You", "Innocent Eyes", "Not Me, Not I" and "Predictable"). The album spent a record-breaking twenty-nine weeks at the top of the ARIA Album chart. In October 2003, the album was nominated for ten ARIA Awards, Goodrem winning seven of them. The album won "Best Pop Release", "Breakthrough Artist: Album", "Breakthrough Artist: Single", "Highest Selling Single", "Best Female Artist", "Highest Selling Album" and "Single of the Year". She also won Channel [V]'s "Oz Artist of the Year" alongside her other winds. At the 2004 ARIA Awards, Innocent Eyes again won the award for "Highest Selling Album". In January 2004, Innocent Eyes sold one million copies in Australia, with 8,390 units sold to officially push it past the one million sold mark. A Japan-only album, under the same name, was released by Goodrem in October 2006. It is not a studio album, but a compilation of songs from both her Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity albums. It also features two new tracks, "Never Fades Away" and "Flawed" (which appeared in the Japanese film Adiantum Blue).
