 Tuonela is the fourth full-length album by Amorphis. It is named for Tuonela, the realm of the dead in Finnish mythology. It shares inspiration with many of their records in the text and themes of the Kalevala or Finnish Epic. The style in this album is not progressive, like it's predecessor, Elegy, but rather a Doom Metal record, in vein of their first two albums, The Karelian Isthmus and Tales from the Thousand Lakes.
