Tracy Chapman is the self-titled debut album by singer/songwriter Tracy Chapman, released in 1988.
The album was critically acclaimed and helped to launch the 1990s female singer/songwriter movement, including artists like Tori Amos, and Sarah McLachlan. The song "Fast Car" was a hit single, and later covered by David Usher on his 2001 album Morning Orbit. In 1989, it was rated #10 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest albums of the 1980s.
