| Hysteria is an album recorded by English synthpop band The Human League. Following the worldwide success of the 1981 album Dare!, the Human League struggled to make a successful follow-up. The Hysteria sessions were filled with problems, including producers Martin Rushent and Chris Thomas walking away from the project. In the meantime, the Fascination! EP was released and the Human League had two successful singles, "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" and "Mirror Man".
By the time Hysteria was released, three years had passed since Dare! and the album met with negative reviews from critics and lacklustre sales. Three singles made it to the top-twenty of the UK singles chart but first single "The Lebanon" was the only song to chart in the U.S., stalling at number sixty-four on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at number three in the UK but was off the charts quickly. In 2005 Hysteria was remastered and re-issued with B-sides and extended mixes as bonus tracks. Track listing: 1.
