The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger single cover
"Chelsea Dagger" is a song by The Fratellis and their second single. It was released on August 28, 2006. It is taken from their debut album Costello Music, which was released in the UK on September 11, 2006. It's supposed to be named after Jon Fratelli's wife Heather, a burlesque dancer whose stage name he borrowed for the song. The song also appears in the trailer for the movie Run, Fat Boy, Run.
It is the theme song of the 2006 Serious Request project on 3FM (The Netherlands). In the night of Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 December 2006 the song was massively requested and played six times within a four hour time span. Characterised by its anthemic, scat sung chorus, which repeats the line "Dur dur dur", it has been adopted on many football terraces as a crowd favourite. It was produced by Tony Hoffer, the highly-acclaimed American record producer famous for his work with the likes of Beck, Kooks and Supergrass. The artwork for this single was by artist Sam Hadley along with the artwork for Henrietta, Costello Music, Whistle for the Choir, Baby Fratelli, and Ole Black 'n' Blue Eyes EP.
