Carpenters is the third studio album by The Carpenters. Released in May 1971, the album was successful, reaching #2 on the U.S. pop albums chart and #12 in the UK. The self-titled album has also been dubbed The Tan Album. In Cash Box's Top 100 Albums of 1971, "Carpenters" was #8.
