Shangri-La is the fourth solo album by Mark Knopfler, released in 2004. It features his signature storytelling style of songwriting.
"Boom, Like That", which started receiving airplay in some areas of the United States in September 2004, was inspired by Ray Kroc's autobiography "Grinding It Out" and the starting of McDonald's, using many of Mr. Kroc's exact words. "Song For Sonny Liston" was written about the famous boxer of the same name. In 2005, Knopfler set out on a world tour to promote his new album. Track listing All songs written by Mark Knopfler. 1.
